Some advice, I need it!

Hey everyone! I have a son who has a speech impairment. He has trouble with his r's and w's. His speech teacher is great, but I have a hard time getting in touch with her. I need some advice and techniques that anyone might know that could help me work with him at home. Thanks!

Check out this website. It gives a great step by step way to practice with your son.

Articulation Interventions

One caution is to not continually correct him when he mispronounces words.

In addition to the suggestions at this webpage - you may come up with a list of words and let HIM CHOOSE 5-10 target words that HE wants to work on saying correctly for that week. Work with him for 10 minutes or so 2-3 times a day and then praise him when he uses them correctly throughout the day. Add to those words week by week.
