Observation time

I have a question about our observation time in the school system. Can we observe a math recovery teacher. I have recently talked with a teacher who does math recovery at Mayfield, and within our conversation I learned that she video tapes/tape records her students. This allows her to go back and observe how the student responded to questions, and to find any clues that they might not truly understand the concepts. She has noted that see can really see what is going on in the video verses while she is teaching. Such as finger counting under the table or counting ceiling tiles.

I have another question about observations, do we have to have anything signed by the teacher that we observed? I already finished my observation and I didn't have her sign anything.

Yes, you may observe a Math recovery teacher. It is your choice of who/what you observe. The stipulation is that it should NOT be at Model.

The teacher does not have to sign anything. I do expect you to have all of the information listed in the rubric - including teacher answers to the questions.
