No break is fine with me. I have a long day on campus and the faster we can get through class the better b/c then I have to drive an hour and a half home.
I agree Michelle. I would much rather go through class and get out earlier.
As I mentioned in class night classes can be very tough on our brains as well as our seats! I will do my best to plan interactive, engaging lessons and activities. Students are encouraged to do whatever is necessary that doesn't disturb others to ensure they maintain focus, stay engaged and participte fully in the class.
The interactive small group activities will lend themselves well to people being able to get up, stretch, use the restroom or grab a drink at the vending machine down the hall as we are working.
Monday night class turned in "expectation cards" which we didn't get to since you were so fully engaged in teaching one another and me. They voted on their cards to break or not. I'll see what the blog comments say relative to a break or going straight through and getting out at 8:30.
So, ok, if we just sit straight through class with no break we get out 15 minutes earlier? I am all for that!!!
I don't want to take a break. I would rather have class all at once, that way I don't loose focus!
Hey ya all! No break is fine with me too if that means we can end the day earlier. I have to drive an hour and a half to get home. Last night it was 10:00 and I still had homework. I also have to get up at 4:30am every morning to go to work, so that makes for a long day.
Elana:)
I think no break because then we can get out a little earlier to get home to project runway!
I agree, no break!!! I would much rather not take a break and just continue with the lesson than to have to stop what we are doing then start back up later after the break. Plus I wouldnt mind getting out earlier!!! :)
Having no break is good with me, the earlier I get to leave class is a good thing, having classes all day can be very tiring. This class seems to be the best night class that I have decided to take. Most of my other professors prefer to lecture the whole time, and in this class doing activities really makes the time go by more quickly!
No break seems to be the way that I'm leaning. The only time you really want a break in class is when a class seems to be boring. I don't think this class is going to fall under that area. I vote NO BREAK!!!!!
I like the no break option and getting out at 8:30! I commute and have to walk out to the parking lot, and it's dark and scary! Yeah, that may be dorky, but if you watch the news, you know where I'm coming from! As soon as I left class, I got on my cell so if I got mugged or something, they could call the cops, lol. I'm just kidding about that...but I would prefer to be on my 40 minute ride home ASAP.
I agree that no break is fine. In class it seems like we will be up and moving around alot. With this in mind I don't think anyone is going to mind if we run for a bathroom break when needed if we are still doing our part in the group.
I would rather not have a break and get out a little earlier. I think I concentrate better if I am not disrupted.
I can go either way on htis subject it really doesnt matter to me. So I am for whatever the rest of the class wants to do.
