More SCEC info

I noticed a lot of you were interested about SCEC in my previous post. The organization's information was placed on my Blackboard this week, and I wanted to share with you what they have posted. I have copied and pasted the information below. Hopefully this will answer some of your questions!

Watch for updates on our site! Our next chapter meeting will be posted soon!

What is SCEC?
SCEC stands for the Student Council for Exceptional Children. The chapter here at Eastern is chapter #723. We are simply a student organization meant to carry out the goals and mission statement of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). CEC's mission is "to improve educational outcomes for individuals with exceptionalities." We, the student chapter of CEC, believe in that statment and hope that through our meetings, activities, and service projects we can improve outcomes and experiences of those with exceptionalities. Through direct interaction and by preparing future professionals with the skills and attitudes necessary, we can help these amazing idividuals grow and succeed!

On my blackboard, there was also a membership form and constitution by laws that I tried to attach to this blog, but I don't know how! If anyone knows how to upload an attachment on here, please let me know. If not, look for the SCEC website through the EKU web page. I haven't checked, but maybe they have a membership form on there if you would like to join.

I don't think the student accounts on the blog have the ability to attach files - not sure.

Feel free to send them to me and I'll gladly upload them to the blog.

Thanks for the update on SCEC for those of us who are interested!
It sounds like it would be interesting and certainly for a great cause.

Do you know if SCEC does any in Somerset? I very much want to join, but I would love to do things in my home town, too.
