Thanksgiving

As Thanksgiving approaches. . .I am thankful for each of you - sappy as it sounds and what you have taught me this semester. I'd say I'm thankful you have listened to me preach - but then - what choice did you have . I'm thankful for students who want to learn, who email and ask questions, who call and make sure, who put family first, who come to class when they don't feel like it, who know when they need to check their priority list and stay home (or go to the hospital), who choose a different major when they realize teaching isn't for them, who dig in and give it their all for the love of children, who know when to laugh it off and realize it's not about the grade it's about what they've learned - and they've learned all they can for that day, who believe that no matter where you come from, how much money your parents have in their pocket, how much education they had, what language they speak, what their skin color is, how well they can walk, talk, think, hear or see . . . I am thankful for the student who believes that child can - despite what society would say - can learn at high levels and WANTS to teach them. That's why I am thankful for so many of you.

Yes, I can say thank you too! This class has been awesome. From the material we have covered to all the hard work that each of us have put into it to learn all that we possibly can in such a short period. And thank you Mrs. White for putting soooo much of your time into this class and our needs outside of class as well. You really go the extra mile for everyone. I also agree with Laura, this class (and Mrs. White) will never be forgotten.

I love this blog simply because it shows exactly what kind of an educator you are. I’m thankful that I was given the opportunity to be in your classroom and learn from an educator who truly understands the insides and outs of teaching. Although, I feel like I do not always do my best at proving to be a successful student I have certainly learned more from you during this past semester than I ever imagined possible. You have given me even more of a drive and hunger to be in the education field and make a difference in my students’ lives. Your motivation and dedication to your work is evident in everything that you do. I truly believe you understand the real meaning of an educator and the role they can or can not play in the students' lives whom they are given the opportunity to educate. Thank you so much for putting all of your effort into our class and doing all that you can to teach us the importance and difference a successful educator can make in student's lives. You truly are a role model for all of us to remember when entering our first classrooms. Thank you again for everything and I hope you enjoy spending Thanksgiving with your family and friends!

I am very thankful for you, Mrs. White. You are the kindest, most understanding, most down to earth, best all around professor I have ever had! Your class is great, but you are even greater. This semester, your class quickly became my favorite! I look forward to coming to your class each and every week, and I will be really sad when it's over. I love the way you put so much effort into teaching us, and finding new ways to give the lesson each week. I am also thankful that you aren't afraid to be real and personal with your students. You have been a real friend to me at times this semester, and I appreciate your compassion so much. I have honestly never had a professor like you. You are one of a kind, and I am so thankful that I have taken this class and met you and the others in our classroom. As the others have said, this is a class I will always remember!!!

If we had the choose one thing to be able to remember from class it would have to be for me the preaching. All of the other information can be found what you preach to us is not found in a book it is from experience and truth. I know if I have that knowledge then my work ethic will be strong, I will be truthful no matter what the situation is, and I will always care. Your awesome and if you ever get a student or anyone else who does not think so find me so I can tell them how great you are. We a very lucky to have you a a teacher.

I love the preaching, even when it's about something we did wrong. My dad always 'lectured' me as a child so as silly as it sounds it takes me back. Passion is passion and it's always appreciated and admired.
