News from Washington, D.C.

Greetings from the nation's capitol! Gallaudet won 95-83 tonight although they were ahead by 25 at one point in the first half! Here you see Sekoe going up to score 2 of his 21 points to welcome us to our first game of the season. We look forward to watching him play again tomorrow night and then heading back to Kentucky Monday - arriving just in time MONDAY'S CLASS!!

I look forward to spending tomorrow grading tests!!! I will do Monday's class first. I'm also taking off work on Tuesday to recover from my trip. I will finish grading tests for the Wednesday night's class and have everyone's test graded by the time we have class at Bluegrass Tech Center.

Twenty-one points is quite impressive for one player! What position does he play?

He plays guard mainly. The team won the tournament tonight. Sekoe was named tournament MVP. In tonight's game he had 24 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals.

Hearing the story tonight in person was great and made me think of my kids that I coach. I think it is great that he had that respect for his Dad to give him the MVP trophy that seems to be well deserved becasue he has rasied a great young man. I know Mom played a great part in that as well. If anyone has not ever seen him play is missing out becaus ehe is a very intense player that plays with a lot of passion. I know in High school when we got our scouting reports on Dunbar that he was a key to make sure that we contained. He is a great player and as we can all see a great young man.

Mrs. White, should all of our grades be up to date? I do not have a grade for my test or my november blogs, thank you!!!

No, ma'am. I am not finished with grading. I have been out playing instead. I tried to do some grading over the past two weeks and the holiday. However, I also chose to spend quality time with my family, do some relaxing and fit in a bit here and there.

I do typically have tests graded by the next class period. This is an exception.

November blog grades. . . it's still the first week of December. I'll work on those, too.

I just read the note about a field trip to watch him play. Too bad it is finals week, the week of the 15th! He is playing near Knoxville, Tennessee at Johnson Bible College on Monday, December 15th (which is why I won't be at Wallace that night - I will be there on the 17th). I'm headed south to see him play.

If it would have been in the semester I'm sure I could have figured out a way to tie that in to the class on Deafness - ha! Now that would have had to have been some carpooling and loads of bonus points for a field trip that far!

They just had their first lost, 84-79. Hopefully, temporary set back!
